Welcome to Escape in Time’s monthly newsletter, THE Escape in TIMES Gazette! Delivering all the news about upcoming special events, challenges, and promotions, THE Escape in TIMES Gazette is your source for all things fun and exciting in ABQ this year! From dances to new rooms, movie nights to delicious new ice cream menus, not to mention our amazing party space and kids rooms, Escape in Time has got it all! And now you get to be in on the fun. Pop’s Soda Shoppe
If you haven't been to Escape in Time in the last week, you may not have seen our recently updated ice cream shoppe! Pop’s Soda Shoppe has been rearranged and upgraded to include freshly made waffle cones, Mexican cokes, sarsaparilla, and bottled cream soda, to name but a few additions!
New hours of operation:
Monday-Thursday from 5-9 p.m. and Friday/Saturday from 12-9 p.m.
keep an eye out for special events in Pop’s this season, including dances and movie nights!
Finally, Pop’s is open for all sorts of special occasions and celebrations! Call soon to book your graduation parties before our space books up and talk to Keith or Penny! We even have our own DJ’s who can work your special event if needed. As Penny says, never wait for the party to come to you; buy the dress now, and plan the party around it!
Don’t forget to call ahead if you’re planning to celebrate a birthday alongside your Escape in Time experience, and we’ll section off a part of Pop’s just for you and your party, complete with ice cream for the whole team (free ice cream up to 10 people per table booked) and a themed table setting!
Thursday nights in Pop’s:
Join our instructor Gabrielle for regular swing dancing from 7-9 P.M. every Thursday night in Pop’s!! Open to all ages 14 and up. $15/couple or $10/person when classes are in session. If no class is running that evening, cover for swing dancing is $5/person. Pop’s will be open for ice cream and specialty sodas on Thursdays as well!

Princess Room Meet and Greet, Wednesday, March 22nd, 2-4 P.M. $10/girl to enjoy cookie decoration, a picture with your favorite EIT princesses, and an afternoon in one of our select princess gowns!! (Please make sure all girls wear a leotard/swimsuit/or undershirt and shorts to keep changing modest and quick!!). We will have giveaways for our Victorian Tea Camps and tons of fun for the girls to explore our Princess Party Room!
Kids Party Rooms
St. George and the Dragon
If you’re coming for St. George and the Dragon (our kid’s only room designed for boys and girls ages 6-12) make sure to inform us of your party size and what food/drinks you’ll be bringing. We’ll section off the far side of Pop’s for you and any other adults to relax and watch the kids on our TV screen as they puzzle their way through to fight the dragon and find their treasure!
Princess Party
If you’re planning to attend the Royal Princess Party (designed for girls ages 6-12), be sure to call ahead to coordinate any theme/decoration needs, as well as food and drink. Keep in mind that our princess room has special rules regarding food and drink (no pizza, red, or blue dyes!) and that the girls MUST come dressed with a tank top/leotard/swimsuit underneath their clothes for easy changing and modesty in the dressing room! Girls who do NOT come with the proper attire may be excluded from the fun if time constraints are an issue - so come prepared and let the search for the royal ball gowns begin!
Upcoming Special Events
Escape in Time’s Open House Birthday Party - March 12th 1-5 p.m. Come celebrate EiT’s anniversary with ice cream, soda, and music in Pop’s Soda Shoppe, as well as dance and musical performances, dancing, art, meet our animal friends, and much, much more!!! This is a wonderful time to help support our community as well as all who have helped contribute to our success over the past three years. Come make some new friends and have a party with us!
Swing into Spring Dance - Friday, March 24th, 7-10 P.M. join us in Pop’s for a fun night of swing dancing, open to all ages! If you are new to swing dancing, this is a great opportunity to learn and join us every Thursday from then on out from 7-9 p.m. for regular swing dancing!!
Lego Day at EIT Tuesday, March 21st, 2-4 P.M. Come and play with us over Spring Break! $5/person to play, including a scoop of ice cream!! We’ll provide the legos (cannot take them home): bring your kids and impress us with your greatest creations.
April Fool’s Day - SNARKY DAY! April 1st - This is the day when your room monitors pull no punches and will personify their snarkiest characters! If you’ve met Saucy Sally or the pirate Bonnie Kate before, you may be surprised to know these were their calm and collected selves: now, on Snarky Day, our monitors have full freedom to mess with you, rib you, and potentially derail your gameplay. Normally reserved to giving hints when commissioned, our monitors have permission to speak their minds freely and comment on your puzzle-solving skills. Come with thick skin and a great attitude and our monitors will do the same!
St. George and the Dragon Day! April 23rd ONE day where adults can come and try their skill at our St. George and the Dragon room, usually available only to kids ages 6-12! This will be your only chance to work your way across the lava, save St. George, and slay the dragon! LIMITED SPACE AVAILABLE and filling quick, so be sure to book your spot ASAP!
Victorian and Calico Tea Camp, Monday-Friday 1-4 P.M. Registration is now open for our Tea Camps! Be sure to secure your spot ASAP and have your girls join us for a week of delicious treats and tea, dancing, history and art, and a beautiful high tea at the end of the week, where your girls can show off what they’ve learned! Spots are limited, so register soon!
